Southern Tire Company came to the rescue for us yet again! I took my truck into a dealership and figured I'd get an oil change and have them check my brakes. I was told by the dealership that my breaks had 5mm left and were fine for the moment. Less than a month later, my brakes started to make a grinding sound. After contacting the dealership to question why my breaks are grinding, I was told to bring it back in. At this point, I did not feel comfortable taking my vehicle the dealership. I have had several previous positive experiences with Southern Tire, so I decided to bring my vehicle to them. Even though they were extremely busy, Tim took me in and got me set up for an inspection on my vehicle. A short time later, Tim called me and informed me that my truck rotors and pads were worn down metal to metal. I let Tim know what the dealership previously told me, and he replied that there is no way I could go through 5 mm of pads in less than a month. Southern Tire did a fantastic job of installing new rotors and new pads on my truck. When I picked up my vehicle, Elio (the mechanic that worked on my car) stated that he could not believe the condition of my old rotors and pads. Elio also reiterated that there is no way my truck could have torn through 5 mm of brake pads in such a short time. We all feel that the dealership did not do their due diligence in their inspection of my brakes, which in turn resulted in a much more involved repair. I am always astounded with the expertise and professionalism of Southern Tire, and am confident that Southern Tire does fantastic, honest work with reasonable prices.
